Hello and thanks for visiting. This website is about fly casting and fly fishing. My name is Todd L. McCagg and I have been fly fishing for close to 30 years. My "real job" is that of mfr's rep for a handful of high end builders of fine guitars and basses (www.silverliningsales.com). My "passion" is music and fly fishing and sometimes not necessarily in that order. I have been teaching fly tying for over 10 years and fly casting for 3 years. I am a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor and an active member of Trout Unlimited.
My MissionWhen I learned to fly fish, and specifically fly cast, I learned from a book with very few photos and extremely cryptic instruction. It was almost as if walls were intentionally being created, not torn down. My fly casting "outfit" was a mismatched, unbalanced combination/equivalent of a broomstick and clothes line. It's no wonder to me now that I couldn't learn to cast more than 20' and that effort was exhausting after a few minutes on the stream. My mission is to impart the necessary wisdom and easy to learn techniques in order to make fly casting an fun, enjoyable and fruitful experience.
